2015 Bead Show Workshop

Skill Level: advanced beginner, comfortable using needle and thread.

Time:  3 hours

Bead embroidery frames and complements your vintage button to give it new life as a necklace pendant, brooch or even a ring. In this class, students will learn basic bead embroidery stitches as well as how to back and finish/ edge your work.


Class fee: $25
Kit Fee: $5

Kit contents: Teacher will bring backing materials, finishing materials and some vintage buttons for sale.  

Students will need to bring:
  • sewing needles
  • thread
  • scissors
  • a focal button or cabochon
  • various sizes and shapes of seed beads.   
  • Students may shop during class time for inspiration and beads to work with.

About Cindy Goldrick

Cindy Goldrick has been crafting her whole life - creating jewelry for over 20 years while spending her rewarding days managing not for profit arts and cultural organizations - and has been teaching jewelry techniques/projects for the last five years. She is past chair of the Toronto Bead Society and a frequent instructor at bead stores and shows in Toronto and Southwestern Ontario. 

Her passion is metal and wirework and she loves nothing more than to spend hours hammering, texturing, riveting, torching, and manipulating this malleable medium to create one-of-a-kind wearable art pieces. Lately, she has been creating multimedia works to continue her growth and artistic explorations.

 Based in St Catharines, Cindy is Chief Creative Officer of her eponymous company, Cindy Goldrick Design. She is also a weekly contributor to the BeadFX blog,The Beadful Life.
