Techniques Night!
Note:
  • Non-Members pay a $5 visitor fee at the door.
  • Kit fees are paid to the instructor.
  • Maximum class size for each technique is 8 people.

Roxann: Tubular Bead Crochet (TBC) 
​Learn the basics of the Tubular Bead Crochet (TBC) with this beginner project tube. The multi-coloured design with #6 seed beads helps you find your way around each row. There will be many samples to show you how use this technique to create beaded cords for jewellery and ornaments.

Class kit: illustrated instructions, #6 beads pre-strung on thread.
Kit fee: $10
What to bring: crochet hook- 1.5mm to 2.0 mm hook
small scissors, light & magnifier if needed, beading mat

NOTE: The instructor will have additional tools for in class use as well as extra supplies for purchase.

Jana Skladan:  Infinity Bracelet & Variations 
Many people enjoy adding an infinity bracelet to their daily ensemble. The meaning behind an infinity bracelet is actually quite beautiful - it symbolizes eternity, empowerment, and everlasting love.  You will be able to design your own bracelet by choosing the cord colours and charms.
   
Kit cost : $10 
 
Kit Contents:
  • 60 inches of 1.5 or 2mm leather cord – limited choice of colours – khaki, red, dark brown, black, tan, light green, white, aqua, violet, orange, yellow, dark green, dark blue
  • 4 - 6 metal beads
  • two metal centre charms – limited choice of 12
  • 2 ribbon cord ends
  • chain and lobster clasp
 
Tools to bring:
  • Scissors, Pliers, Beading mat - possibly

  • wire weave a bail
  • make scrolls with wire ends
Kit cost: $12
  • 18 G and 26 G Parawire spools of fine silver plated silver wire (non-tarnish)
  • glass chips
 
What to bring:
Flush cutter, Chain nose pliers,  
Round nose pliers, Broad nose pliers (optional),
Large bail forming pliers (optional) or a pen, 
Nylon jawed pliers (optional), Ruler or tape measure, 2 bull dog clips, A mandrel from home e.g. a small round vitamin bottle, diameter approximately 2  inches.

​Create Your Own Findings, The Basics and Beyond


Why pay retail prices when you can make your own gorgeous findings with wire at a fraction of the cost! This class will teach you how to make Eye & Head Pins, different types of ear findings, including studs, Single and Double Wire Wrap Loops, different styles of Hook & Eye Clasps, S Clasps, links, Pendent Bails, and Toggle Clasps.
 
Skills Required: Beginner
 
Bring: eyeglasses or magnifiers, Round Nose, Flat Nose, and Chain Nose Pliers, Flush wire Cutters, Jump Ring Mandrel*, Files, Pin Vice, Large and Small Wrap ‘n Tap, Bench Block, Chasing  Hammer. Some tools will be available for class use and sale.

Class Kit Fee: $10.00
The kit includes Para Wire, in sizes 16G, 18G, 20G, and 22G and Square wire.

Liz Piper:  Star & Wheel Spoke Earrings

Using Super Duos and seed beads we will be making two different simple compoments which will be made into earirngs. Take these techniques home and make several more components and attach them as a bracelet or necklace.

Kit cost :  $6

Kit includes: Super Duos, Seed beads, Ear wires.

Student Needs to Bring:
Beading needle #12, Fireline 6 lbs, Scissors, Bead Mat, Magnifiers if required.

Note: Items for kits are purchased by the instructor on your behalf based on your registration.  If you cannot attend and you have registered, please contact the events coordinator ASAP to discuss how your kit items should be handled or to allow anyone on a waiting list to have an opportunity to attend.  If no cancellation notice is given, kit fee payment may be required.  

General Meeting Information:
  • Held the third Monday of each Month
  • 7:00 - 9:00 pm
  • They are held at The Hampton Inn & Suites (beside Galaxy Cinema) 725 Imperial Road North Guelph, Ontario Canada  map
  • Meetings consist of announcements, old and new business, show & tell of member’s work, the evenings’ program, and socializing. 
  • The program can include anything from: hands-on mini-workshops from invited artists, guest speakers, demonstrations, trunk shows, road trips or informal gatherings.
